Partnerships for the Goals
Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) actively fosters partnerships across sectors and publishes transparent reports to advance and track its contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Recognizing the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling global challenges, UII plays a key role in SDG policy development, offers expert input to government bodies, and initiates cross-sector dialogues to facilitate shared understanding and collective action. Through these partnerships and publications, UII aims to drive meaningful progress toward sustainability on both national and international levels.
UII’s commitment to the SDGs is evident in its advisory role with government agencies, where it provides research insights and expert analysis to support policy formulation. For instance, UII recently contributed to Indonesia’s educational roadmap, providing constructive input to help shape a resilient and future-focused educational system. Additionally, UII has collaborated with the Yogyakarta Municipality to design a masterplan for development and research, which prioritizes sustainable practices and aligns with the SDGs.
The university’s engagement extends to organizing and participating in cross-sectoral and international conferences, bringing together universities, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to address pressing global issues. Conferences such as the International Conference on Sustainable Built Environment (ICSBE) and the National Sustainability University Leaders Meeting have established UII as a leading voice in sustainability education and action. UII’s international collaborations also encompass data gathering and SDG measurement, with initiatives like ERASMUS+ programs underscoring its commitment to international partnerships and data-driven progress.
To further enhance its impact, UII actively collaborates with NGOs, empowering communities through projects like the KKN student volunteering program and partnerships with organizations such as Dompet Dhuafa for global and local community support. These partnerships enable UII to leverage resources and expertise for targeted SDG initiatives, fostering sustainable development within communities and beyond.
Through the annual publication of its SDG reports, UII showcases its ongoing efforts and achievements in addressing global challenges. Managed by the Board of Planning and Development and the Sustainability Office, these reports reflect UII’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. By sharing its progress, UII invites stakeholders to join its journey toward a sustainable future, highlighting the collective power of partnerships in achieving the SDGs.
